Terms of service

These terms govern your use of Smooth Rise and smoothriseapp.com (the "Service"), operated by Smooth Rise ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you are signing up on behalf of a company, you represent that you have the authority to bind that company.

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Surveil, monitor, or rate individual employees beyond the structural workflow changes they make.
• Upload content you do not have the right to share, including personal data of people who have not consented.
• Interfere with the Service: probe for vulnerabilities outside our disclosure program, abuse rate limits, or attempt to access data outside your workspace.
• Resell or sublicense the Service without a written agreement.

We may suspend accounts that violate these rules, with notice where reasonable.

You are responsible for activity under your account, including the actions of members you invite to your workspace. Keep credentials secret, use strong passwords, and tell us immediately if you suspect an account has been compromised. Owners are responsible for managing roles and removing former teammates.

Smooth Rise is offered on monthly and annual plans. Pricing for self-serve plans is shown on the pricing page. The Scale plan is contracted directly.

• Charges are billed in advance and are non-refundable except where required by law.
• You can cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice for the next renewal period.
• Taxes are calculated based on your billing address.

You own the workspace content your team creates. We hold the rights you grant us in these terms to operate the Service: hosting, processing, displaying, and backing up your content. We do not claim any ownership of workflows, SOPs, or other documents you enter into the Service.

You can export your data at any time and delete your workspace permanently from Settings. See the privacy policy for retention details.

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties beyond those required by law. Smooth Rise is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or revenue, whether arising under contract, tort, or any other theory of liability.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your workspace from Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that materially violate these terms, fail to pay, or pose a security risk. We will give reasonable notice and an opportunity to cure where appropriate.

On termination, your right to use the Service ends. You will retain access for a reasonable export window unless we are required to terminate immediately.

We may update these terms to reflect product changes or legal requirements. Material changes will be announced in-app and by email at least 30 days before they take effect for paying customers. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
